Welfare benefits increased from 1 March 2023!
The Social Assistance Directorate of Targu Mures announces that, as of 1 March 2023, all social assistance benefits calculated in relation to the value of the Social Reference Indicator (SRI) have increased by 13.8%, as a result of the increase in the value of the SRI. Thus, the value of the Social Reference Indicator increased from 525.5 lei to 598.02 lei.
The amounts of the main financial aid provided by the State after the application of the new SFR are as follows:

- Guaranteed minimum income (social aid), established by Law No 416/2001 and granted to families and single persons as a form of social assistance, will have the following values:
- 170 lei (0,283 ISR) - for a single person;
- 305 lei (0,510 ISR) - for a family of 2 persons;
- 427 lei (0,714 ISR) - for a family of 3 persons;
- 529 lei (0,884 ISR) - for a family of 4 persons;
- 631 lei (1,054 ISR) - for a family of 5 persons;
- Child-raising allowance will increase from 1,314 lei/month to 1,495 lei/month.
- Allowances for people with disabilities:
- For adults, they increase from 368 lei to 419 lei for severe disability and from 279 lei to 317 lei for severe disability;
- For children, they increase from 316 lei to 359 lei for severe disability, from 184 lei to 210 lei for severe disability and from 64 lei to 72 lei for medium disability.
From 2022 onwards, the ISR is increased in March each year by the average annual inflation rate, a definitive indicator communicated by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), which is the basis for determining the amounts of social assistance benefits.
