Homeless people in the attention of DAS Targu Mures
The Social Assistance Department of Targu Mures through the Night Shelter Social Service offers homeless people not only a space where they can stay out of the cold, wind or rain, but especially the support of specialists, support absolutely necessary for these people to learn what they need to do to learn an independent lifestyle with great chances for professional and social reintegration.
As every year, the Targu Mures Social Assistance Department organised a series of activities dedicated to homeless people, joining institutions and communities around the world that, through various actions, want to raise the alarm on the phenomenon of this disadvantaged social category.
This year, the beneficiaries of the Night Shelter Social Service received a warm meal from the long-time partners of the Targu Mures Social Assistance Department - the Alpha Transylvanian Foundation, right at the Alpha Community Centre.
The event, which marks the International Day of Homeless People, is part of the Annual Action Plan on social services administered and financed from the budget of the Local Council of Targu Mures for 2024 approved by HCL no. 153 of 28 June 2024.
At the moment, the Night Shelter is assisting 30 homeless adults, without income, without relatives, who are at risk of social exclusion and marginalization. They are provided with overnight accommodation in separate male and female bedrooms, deworming, clothing, footwear, hygiene items, health care, social and professional counselling.
In this way, we would like to remind and at the same time ask the local community to call the Local Police Dispatch 0265/250760, to inform about the areas or locations where homeless people are sheltered.
