Exploring the Universe with Creativity - Blue Planet Detectives Project
Week 4 - Cosmic World
A journey in the cosmic world among shuttles, rockets, sun, moon and planets. That's what the children of the Day Care Centre "Rozmarin" had during the last week of the project "Detectives on the blue planet", developed together with the Humanitarian Organisation Concordia and financed by BOSCH Romania.
Together they familiarised themselves with the cosmic objects that populate the Universe and discovered how the Solar System was formed.
In a colourful and imaginative experience through illustrations, film, stories and games, children discovered the order, size, names and details of the planets in our solar system: the closest to the Sun is Mercury, which has no atmosphere; a day on Venus lasts longer than a year on Earth, also known as the evening or morning star; Mars is the Red Planet and so on to Neptune - the furthest planet from the Sun.
A word game using the names of the planets sparked their imaginations, and we're showing you what they came up with: Tomorrow (Mercury) You (Venus) First (Earth) Many (Mars) Toys (Jupiter) Or (Saturn) A (Uranus) Awesome (Neptune).
Exploring this world has found answers to curious questions: Who was the first man in space? (Gagarin); What animal was Laika? (the first animal to orbit the Earth).
Each child used their imagination to add magical and sparkly details, creating distinctive and lively characters. They cut, modelled and were, for a moment, cosmonauts too.
Working in Cosmic World was not only a journey into the cosmos, but also an exciting foray into the world of creativity and discovery.
The little detectives' mission to the Blue Planet is coming to an end. The Centre's children are leaving the 4 worlds explored (Plant, Mineral, Animal and Cosmic Worlds) with a wealth of information and they promise you that they will not stop there, as they are extremely curious by nature and ready for any challenge. New worlds are certainly waiting for them to explore, and the trip to Sibiu in the next few days will give them an experience they won't forget!
