Special anniversary: 100 years of life!
Căliman Irma, born in 1925 in Sovata and then moved to Târgu Mureș in 1940, is an example of strength, beauty, character and kindness. She has been retired for over four decades and is part of the group of elderly people who benefit from home care services provided by the Târgu Mureș Social Assistance Department.
A Century Lived has unique stories that you listen to carefully and respectfully, and is a truly special event in the life of Mrs Irma. She spent her childhood during the longest war in history - World War II, which caught her in Budapest at the age of 19. She was a cashier (civil servant) at the ICRM Târgu Mureș, played basketball in the first basketball team of the Municipality of Târgu Mureș, did gymnastics, played table tennis and loved skiing, even at the age of 60. Her greatest joys were her 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren on her husband's side.
One of the mishaps she has had throughout her life, was with her best friend, Nely: they were in the locality of Mestera, they ate more and less of the sorrel, one less, the other more and were rushed to the hospital in Toplița. Here they were "scolded" by the doctor on duty for having eaten "exotic fruit", but they had a great time, as they were smiling from ear to ear when the ambulance arrived.
Our centenarian's life is a living example of strength, optimism and love, and we are deeply grateful to be able to share this special moment with her. Happy happy birthday and bless you in your easy old age!
