Registrations for the "Adopt a family" project to support families in need in Târgu Mureș
Given the fact that we are going through an increasingly difficult period, when prices are rising and many families are having an increasingly difficult time, the Social Assistance Department of Targu Mures in partnership with the Association ProVision Romania has decided to continue the project "Adopt a family", now in its second edition.
Objective of the initiative is to identify and support families at risk of social marginalisation, with several children, in order to overcome situations of hardship as a result of prompt and united local community intervention. More specifically, the Targu Mures Social Welfare Department will identify vulnerable families with children at risk and, together with the ProVision Romania Association, will draw up and develop a plan of services that will lead to the reduction of the factors involved.
Thus, we aimed to support a number of 20 families from Târgu Mureș Municipality who are facing reduced material possibilities, have more than 2 dependent children attending school / kindergarten, single-parent families or families where only one member works.
This way, we invite the above-mentioned social categories to apply for the programme by sending a letter of intent to the e-mail address: registratura.das@tirgumures.ro or physically at the Social Welfare Directorate Târgu Mureș, Gheorghe Doja Street, no. 9, room 8, ground floor (schedule: Monday-Friday 08:00-12:00, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:00-16:00) until 25.01.2023.
If you are aware of families in difficulty, we are also waiting for your letter giving us the necessary details to identify these social categories.
The selection of families will be based on the social survey, taking into account each individual story.
"As a result of citizens' involvement in this project, we want to get to know as many families as possible who describe the problems they face in their daily lives so that we can promptly intervene with solutions. Vulnerable families must become functional families, independent of social services and integrated into the community. Before a child drops out of school, we want to make sure that we have done everything we can to keep them safely in the education system and in their family environment, and when they turn 18, we have a duty to make sure they are ready for life. We strongly believe that each of us must be involved in making a difference in the lives of those around us. This is what this project is all about and we look forward to seeing the reaction of the citizens to whom we have issued this invitation." said representatives of the Social Welfare Department of Targu Mures.
