DAS Targu Mures issues free parking passes for people with disabilities
The Social Assistance Department of Targu Mures protects and promotes the rights of people with disabilities and their families. By applying the national legislation on the protection of people with disabilities (Law no. 448/2006 republished), they or their legal representatives can benefit, upon request, from a parking card for free parking spaces.
According to the legislation in force, the single-format document giving the right to free parking to vehicles carrying disabled people on specially designated parking spaces, reserved and marked with a conventional sign, is valid for the same period as the validity of the disability classification certificate (GD no. 268/2007).
Interested persons can apply for the free parking card at the Social Welfare Department of Targu Mures, Gheorghe Doja Street, no. 9, Registration (room 9, working hours with the public: Monday-Friday 08:00-12:00, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:00-16:00) or by e-mail at: registratura.das@tirgumures.roby means of a standard application accompanied by the following documents:
- Copy of the disability certificate;
- Colour copy of the applicant's identity document (birth certificate in case of children);
- Copy of the identity card of the legal representative (if applicable);
- A colour photo of the cardholder (30×40 mm);
- Original, expired ID card (if the applicant held such a card).

From the beginning of 2023 until now, 145 people with disabilities or their legal representatives have applied for the DAS Târgu Mureș free parking card, while last year, 379 people received this document.
