Free solar panels for vulnerable people in Târgu Mureș: €10,000 vouchers without any financial contribution
The REPowerEU programme offers a unique opportunity for vulnerable people in Târgu Mureș to benefit from free solar panels.
This means that beneficiaries will not have to pay any money out of their own pockets to benefit from clean energy produced right in their own homes. All costs related to the purchase, installation and commissioning of the equipment are covered by the state. It is a unique opportunity to significantly reduce energy bills and achieve energy independence without any upfront investment.
Grants are awarded in the form of vouchers, worth between €10,000 - €20,200, depending on the component under which the grant application is made, and the co-financing rate is zero, i.e. there is no own contribution.
Funding is provided through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, under components C16/Investment I4 and C16/Investment I7/Axis 1, for the installation of photovoltaic panels, energy storage systems and measures to improve the energy efficiency of residential buildings.
The programme offering free solar panels, REPowerEU, is particularly targeted at vulnerable people, defined as people facing significant economic and social difficulties, putting them at a disadvantage compared to the rest of the population:
- Pensioners with low pensions: Individuals who receive pensions below the nationally set decent living standard;
- Families with several children: Families with three or more dependent children who face higher expenses;
- People with disabilities: people with severe, severe or moderate disabilities who need special adaptations to their home;
- Single-parent families: Families where only one parent provides for the child or children;
- Other disadvantaged groups: Other vulnerable groups, such as the long-term unemployed, Roma or other ethnic minorities, may be included.
Those who wish to access these funds must submit the following documents/information:
- Copy of identity card/passport;
- Copy of the land register extract (not older than 30 days) and if you don't have a land register, any other document (Certificate and Tax Certificate) issued by the town hall, showing the ownership or the related property share (minimum 50%);
- A copy of an old or recent electricity bill (this can be in a different name and is needed to prove there is an electricity connection to the property);
- Contact phone and e-mail address.
Then, the final beneficiaries (vulnerable persons and/or individuals) will conclude a Commercial Contract with an economic operator (who will apply for the vouchers) from list of validated economic operators:
Additional reports can be obtained at the Energy Efficiency One-Stop Shop, set up within the Mures County Council, which will support vulnerable consumers who apply for the programme, tel.: 0265263211, ext. 1301.
The deadline for applying for funding is 15 February 2025.
