19 mothers from Târgu Mureș Municipality receive this week the cards worth 2,000 lei for newborns, granted according to GEO no. 113/2022
The Targu Mures Social Welfare Department is distributing these days the electronic social vouchers for newborns for mothers from disadvantaged backgrounds.
19 mothers from Târgu Mureș Municipality, who applied for the cards between August 2022 and March 2023, benefit from material support of 2,000 lei, which can be used exclusively to purchase products for newborn care (diapers, powdered milk, sanitary and medical items, baby toiletries and clothing).
The electronic social vouchers for newborns are granted once per newborn and can be used for 6 months from the date of issue - according to the Government Emergency Ordinance No 113/2022, which regulates the measures necessary to implement the European Aid Fund for the most deprived persons.
The final beneficiaries of social vouchers for newborns are children up to 3 months old whose mothers are from disadvantaged categories, as follows:
- mothers receiving guaranteed minimum income under Law No 416/2001;
- mothers receiving family support allowance under Law No 277/2010;
- mothers with disabilities;
- mame minor;
- mothers temporarily in critical life situations (e.g. victims of domestic violence, victims of disasters, dependent persons, etc.), established by social inquiry;
- mothers who do not have identity papers and as such cannot benefit from civil rights;
- mothers who are foreign citizens or stateless persons from the area of armed conflict in Ukraine.
Applications for electronic social vouchers for newborns shall be submitted to the Social Assistance Department of Targu Mures, Gh. Doja, nr. 9, working hours with the public: Monday-Friday: 08:00-12:00, Tuesday and Thursday: 14:00-16:00 or they are sent by e-mail to: registratura.das@tirgumures.ro.
The lists of final beneficiaries are updated monthly and communicated to the Prefect's Institution - Mures County.

IMPORTANT! Newborn e-vouchers can only be used in a network of affiliated shops. The cards do not allow cash withdrawals, only the purchase of newborn care products.
The electronic social vouchers for newborn babies are granted through the Operational Programme for Aid to the Disadvantaged, financed by the European Fund for the most deprived persons.
