Deadline for exchanging free parking passes - 30 June 2024!
People with disabilities who live/reside in the Municipality of Târgu Mureș still have two weeks to apply for the unique model of the parking card, which came into force last year. From 1 July 2024, the old format of the document will no longer be valid.
The free parking permit is issued upon written request, which can be sent online to the following e-mail address registratura.das@tirgumures.ro or physically at the Social Welfare Department Târgu Mureș, Gheorghe Doja Street, no. 9, ground floor, room 8.
The application, which can be found on the website: https://dastgmures.ro/, section Social Assistance Services, Parking card for people with disabilities, will be accompanied by the following documents:
- Copy of the disability certificate;
- Copy of the applicant's identity document (birth certificate in case of children);
- Copy of the identity card of the legal representative (if applicable);
- A photo of the cardholder (person with disability) (30×40 mm);
- Original, expired ID card (if the applicant held such a card);
- Affidavit (in case of damage or loss).

Persons from the Municipality of Târgu Mureș who apply for a change of the free parking card with the new format of the document are obliged to hand in the old card (for destruction).

The free parking permit card is intended for people with disabilities who hold a disability certificate, regardless of the degree of disability.
However, this document is also available to the legal representatives of these persons. According to the law, in the interest of the disabled person, the ID card can also be used by the family, the personal assistant, the professional personal assistant or the accompanying person of the disabled adult, the parent, the guardian or the person in charge of the upbringing and care of the disabled child, under a special protection measure.
The parking card for people with disabilities is valid only for the period of validity of the disability classification certificate and can be used in all public car parks in Romania and in EU countries, but cannot be used in residential car parks!
From the beginning of 2024 until now, 332 people with disabilities or their legal representatives have applied to DAS Târgu Mureș for a free parking card.
