DAS Târgu Mureș grants social vouchers for kindergarten
The Directorate of Social Assistance (DAS) Târgu Mureș stimulates the participation in pre-school education of children from disadvantaged families and aims to increase their access to education, both through the implementation of national social policies and through its own programmes.
According to Law No 248/2015, children enrolled in a pre-school education centre receive an educational incentive in the form of social vouchers. They can be used only for the purchase of food and hygiene products, clothing, footwear and school supplies, with a nominal value of 133 lei/month. For this social benefit, the monthly income per family member must not exceed 880 lei per person.
TO BE RECOGNISED!
The social vouchers for kindergarten are conditional on the child's daily attendance at kindergarten. The law only allows absences for medical reasons, with reasons and leave of absence, provided that teachers are notified.
In the school year 2023-2024, a total of 614 kindergarten vouchers were granted through the Targu Mures Social Assistance Department.
The educational incentive is granted only for the duration of the courses and is financed from the state budget. According to the law, its value is not taken into account when determining the income on the basis of which social assistance benefits are granted.
