Family Support Allowance - Money for children up to 18 years old
Family Support Allowance is for low-income families raising and caring for children up to the age of 18. The benefit is intended to provide better conditions for the care and upbringing of children and to encourage children up to the age of 18 to attend school.
The family support allowance is granted, on request, to families with a net monthly income per family member of up to 634 lei and is conditional on the uninterrupted attendance of children.
The amount of the family support allowance is between 90 lei/month and 512 lei/month, depending on the average net monthly income per family member, the number of children in the family and the type of family.
When determining the net family income, no account is taken of amounts from the state allowance, school grants or entitlements for children with special educational needs (SEN).
The family support allowance is granted on the basis of an application and an affidavit, accompanied by supporting documents relating to the composition of the family, its income and proof of school attendance by dependent children. The aforementioned documents must be submitted to the Social Welfare Department of Târgu Mureș, Gheorghe Doja Street no. 9, room 8, Registry Office (office hours: Monday-Friday 08:00-12:00, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:00-16:00) or electronically to the e-mail address: registratura.das@tirgumures.ro.
IMPORTANT!
According to Law no. 277/2010, republished, the family support allowance payment is reduced by 20% or 50%, depending on the number of unjustified absences during a school semester (10 or 20 absences respectively) and is modified if the student has more than 20 unjustified absences in a semester.
