Every year, World Diabetes Day is marked on 14 November in response to growing concerns about the growing health threat of diabetes.

The theme of this year's World Diabetes Day is "Access to diabetes care" and under the slogan "Know your risks, so you know what to do!" the need for access to educational programmes for people with diabetes and health professionals is emphasised.
