The value of the childcare vouchers has been increased from March 2023. Who benefits from the education incentive?
The monthly amount of the social voucher for kindergarten (educational incentive) has been increased from March 2023, from 105 lei to 120 lei, as a result of the increase of almost 14% in the value of the Social Reference Indicator.
The education allowance is granted monthly to increase access to education for children from disadvantaged families and to encourage their participation in pre-school education.
According to the law, nursery vouchers can only be used for the purchase of food and hygiene products, clothing, shoes and school supplies.
Who benefits from social vouchers for kindergarten?
- By default, pre-school children from families who have established entitlement to family support allowance;
- By exception and on request, pre-school children who are in the care of another person designated by the parent for the child's maintenance during the parents' absence, provided that the income per person does not exceed the maximum income level for the family support allowance (634 lei/month).
TO BE RECOGNISED!
The social vouchers for kindergarten are conditional on the child's daily attendance at kindergarten. The law only allows absences for medical reasons, with reasons and leave of absence, provided that teachers are notified.
Since the beginning of the school year 2022-2023 and so far, a total of 329 kindergarten vouchers have been granted through the Târgu Mureș Social Welfare Department.
The educational incentive is granted only for the duration of the courses and is financed from the state budget. According to the law, its value is not taken into account when determining the income on the basis of which social assistance benefits are granted.
